    Hi Steve,

Is there a better way? i am trying to create an effect that i used alot in Avid. Have a still at the end of a clip, add a white hard flash to simulate the camera flash and have the sill image b&w and stightly twisting.

Hi Harold and thanks for responding.

My friends system is very simular:
I have a 2.6 quad core with 4GB ram – he has the sale with 3GB ram. He uses vegas 8, im using version 7….

It is set to 4, and all 4 are being used, but only at 30%, where his run at 95% when rendering MPEG2.

    Regards

What are you previewing on? Did you alter any bit-rates when rendering. Have you burnt the render to Dvd, if so is the quality still poor?

john, sorry to trouble you, I have read this thread with interest (and by the way, your absolute DVD is excellent). Anyway, my question – for the best quality, and least playback issues what would you set your VBR rate at for DVD. Some say 6mbps and others 8mbps-what do you go for?

Thank you. It is going out at ‘best’ setting and 2 pass, so you might be right. Someone mentioned that nested vegs take longer, and I should set threads to 1. I love the comments re snow – excellent. Thank. martin.

I have tried that – do i need to highlight the track? select to end? hitting the button on toolbar makes no difference?

Hi Steve, I havent rendered yet – its my first Vegas project… i have the preview window set to preview full…. I think i may have solved it though – i found a post on another forum with a simular issue which was resolved by reducing the preview ram in preferences to ‘0’ – i have dont that and re-started vegas, and all is well so far…

    Thank you for responding…

I think i have the answer – for some reason track motion was taking all the added titles after the first one off to the left outside the viewing area…. still not sure why, but sorted now.
