I have noticed that my PC doesn’t refer as fast as it should (this tested with a friend with a similar pc). My pc is a quad core 2.6 with 4 gb ram. When my friend is rendering (same template settings) his CPU usage (seen in performance tab in task manager) is at 95%. On my pc it only gets to 30-32%. Can anyone help me get more out of the CPUs (there doesn’t seem to be any other processes eating up CPU) martin

Do you have Vegas setup to use all 4 cores of your CPU? You did not mention what machine your friend has or the time difference between renders. What effects are you using in your project. Many things impact CPU usage.

Hi Harold and thanks for responding.

My friends system is very simular:
I have a 2.6 quad core with 4GB ram – he has the sale with 3GB ram. He uses vegas 8, im using version 7….

It is set to 4, and all 4 are being used, but only at 30%, where his run at 95% when rendering MPEG2.

    Regards
    Martin
