    Hi everyone,

Can enyone hold with this issue i am having with Vegas 7. The HDV footage was captured fine (no dropped frames). when i bring it into the timeline i have noticed several occasions when there are missing frames (usually 2 together) on preview playback (interestnly, when i zoon in they are there as thumbnails on the timeline)…I have a quad core with 4GB ram… i am really stuck on this.
    Regards
    Martin

Did you render out your project and still noticed any
    missing frames or anything?
    (i doubt you would)
What setting do you have your preview playback set at?

Hi Steve, I havent rendered yet – its my first Vegas project… i have the preview window set to preview full…. I think i may have solved it though – i found a post on another forum with a simular issue which was resolved by reducing the preview ram in preferences to ‘0’ – i have dont that and re-started vegas, and all is well so far…

    Thank you for responding…

    regards

I just had this problem with Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.
I have created a few videos, but this one is longer with more tracks.

So, there was a particular section of video that looked fine on the time line, but during preview everything was completely black, though the audio worked fine. I messed around with it and closed and opened Vegas. I tried rendering the track and got back about half of it, still with blank black areas. After it happened on another section of the video, I thought to do a replace in the Project Media tab of the source video file (and accidentally replaced it with the wrong file), but when I replaced it back with the same original file, then everything was fine. It’s like Vegas just forgot how to get to the file for some frames.

Incidentally, Vegas died shortly thereafter. I think something is overloading my system. I wonder if Vegas has a leak somewhere.
