Raylight is not an intermediate, it’s native DVCPROHD. It says so in the first paragraph of the website:

Not only is it more accepting with MXF files it’s also a lot faster.

“Scene 23 Take 5 0001QM.mxf.mov”
So no information is lost, however the file name can now be indexed and is searchable.

I don’t think FCP can do that, but Raylight for Mac ( https://dvfilm.com/raylight/mac ) version 1.06 will allow you to read P2 metadata from the quicktime player, or from Final Cut (it creates a metadata virtual slate which is viewable in FCP). Also the metadata User Clip Name and Program Name can be used to automatically rename the clips and organize them into folders, so that might cover what you need to sort clips by scene and take.
