Thank you for your kind words. Please also ensure you are using the current Multibridge 1.52 software just in case that makes a difference. It’s a strange problem as we always test DeckLink with Multibridge so I’ll be very interested to read about your latest tests.

Yes I expect that will work around Jerome’s problems. It’s a good idea to ensure you are running current NVIDIA drivers. NVIDIA also has its own extended desktop feature and it might be that both the DeckLink and NVIDIA desktops will not coexist together. Jerome could experiment with disabling the NVIDIA desktop and then see if he can use the DeckLink desktop.

Hi Jeff,
There have been a couple of updates to Vegas and it’s currently at Vegas 6.0c. Vegas users seem to be pretty happy with the latest update. Please note that Vegas 6.0 specifically uses the DeckLink 4.8.1 drivers and will continue to do so until such a time as Vegas might be updated to take advantage of a newer version of the DeckLink drivers.

That’s a good idea to post on the FCP forum to cover the possibility of it being an FCP 5.x bug. Hopefully other PVW2800 users in this or the FCP forum might respond to your post and let you know if they are seeing the problem.

No, that’s not normal but I’m glad you seem to have overcome your problem. Which Blackmagic Preferences did you delete? I cannot think of any that would have helped in your situation.
My suspicion is that something has gone awry with your latest FCP update. If you continue to experience problems, reinstall FCP and update to FCP 5.0.3 and then reinstall the latest DeckLink drivers. That will ensure that all the right components are present.

It might well be an FCP bug but it’s hard to understand why it would only be affecting you and there are no other reports of the problem in this forum as far as I’ve heard.
Do you have another Mac on which you could try this same test?
When you perform your test, do you keep using the same project file or have you tried with a fresh project? It is possible the bug is confined to one project file and creating a fresh project might clear it.

Hi,
After installing the DeckLink Extreme in to a Mac or PC, you might find that you cannot capture video. The reason for this is that you first need to specify which video input you are using, ie SDI, component analog or composite analog.
In Mac OS X, open the System Preferences and then click on Blackmagic DeckLink.
In Windows XP, go to the Start menu, click on Settings, open Control Panels and then the DeckLink control panel.Look at the settings for Video Connections and set the Input as desired, ie:
* Digital SDI
* Analog NTSC/PAL (Y In) – also known as composite analog.
* Analog Y, B-Y, R-Y – also known as component analog.Video output is always sent to both SDI and analog outputs simultaneously so the only choice you might want to make here is between component and composite output.
Now that you have made these changes, you should be able to capture video with DeckLink Extreme.
