    Hi folks,
I’m considering switching from PremierePro to Vegas, and was wondering how DL users are finding the hardware integration. Real time effects/color-correction? Driver stability? Batch & print accuracy? I use mostly BetaSP, with some DV in/out. Currently have a DL Extreme, but planning for a Multibridge Studio for HD work next year.

    Thanks for any input,
    Jeff

I bought my DL extreme with the intent to use it with Vegas. But found the combination so buggy and unstable that I upgraded an old copy of Premiere 6 we had lying around in hopes it would be a more usable working enviorment.
Vegas 6 itself had a lot of issues when it came out. Don’t know how far they got ironing those problems out since I now use PPro all the time and have really grown to like it.

Well, about all I do edit-wise is animation layback and clip capture for motion graphics, so I guess I can live with Premiere for a while…
    Thanks for the input.

    Hi Jeff,

There have been a couple of updates to Vegas and it’s currently at Vegas 6.0c. Vegas users seem to be pretty happy with the latest update. Please note that Vegas 6.0 specifically uses the DeckLink 4.8.1 drivers and will continue to do so until such a time as Vegas might be updated to take advantage of a newer version of the DeckLink drivers.

    Hi,

Noticed that Vegas 6c with the decklink capture card you’ll have to capture to Sony’s uncompressed AVI codec to work in the software application. Is this correct? Also, FCP5 Decklink uncompressed 720×486 QuickTime footage is not compatible with Vegas 6c right?

    Thanks,
    Jamie
