DL extreme analogue video input waaayyyy too low

October 27, 2005 at 6:47 pmHi
We have just been testing he levels in and out of the decklink extreme: The SDI levels are perfect, and component out as well.
But the component input is about 25% too low on level and chroma. If we push the proc amp settings to maximum (+1.8db), it reaches about 95% of PAL white when feeding it 100% color bars.
Has anybody actually confirmed the input and output levels on a scope like we did tonight? When we are looking at the input through the capture tool, we can compare FCP’s built-in waveform/vector scope with the hardware Waveform/Vector on the output of the card, and they seem to correspond pretty closely. But the analogue input level that is this low is shocking.
Is this normal? Does anybody else see this?
Regards

October 27, 2005 at 9:35 pmI only do NTSC, but my Extreme is about 10 IRE low on capture. That is within the range correctable by the proc amp controls, at least.

We’ll retest this and let you know what we find as it should be fine.
