No, didn’t realize I had to. The videographer I worked with put some software on the drive when he delivered the XD Cam footage and Calibrated was one of the packages I installed to get the XD Cam footage to work. Do I even need this software if all I need to do is interpret XD Cam footage? Ironically, this sequence is HDV which I would not have this problem with before Calibrated was installed. Thanks Jeremy

August 10, 2009 at 2:05 pm in reply to: mixed format PAL and NTSC

thanks for the conversion suggestion. The director inherited the project as is so not really her fault although I would be inclined to agree with distributing a healthy amount of grief for the mixed format. Because there is so much PAL, I want to go that route, but have heard bad things about going in that direction and that NTSC to PAL looks worse than the other way around. Also, running away is not an option and I don’t think DV Film Atlantis can handle MXF files which is how they were dig’d. Thanks for the sales pitch anyway and if I end up re-dig’ing the material it will be into a system that can handle both formats… I hope.

Not using two on one port, not even sure that is possible, but I do have both monitors into one card – one in the DVI and one in the ADC (after going through the powered converter). And the monitor with the converter is the one that is working. Is the memory the issue? New card? Additional card?

That is quirk that I have experienced too. Have you tried turning waveform on and off? That works for me (usually) good luck

Motion has a nice set of glows as well if you have it. I like the Bloom.

happens all the time. There is opacity information on each clip in the timeline, so I think it always considers what is above and below each clip.

January 5, 2007 at 10:20 pm in reply to: How can I copy effects from one clip to another?

you can also load (double-click) the color corrected clip into the viewer, create a new bin named custom color or something like that, then drag the CC from the filters tab to that new bin. Then give it the appropriate name in the bin, like Jane Doe CC or whatever. you can then add this to one or multiple other clips in the timeline by selecting and dragging your new Jane Doe CC from the custom color bin. This would work with any other effect, filter, or transition with parameters you wanted to save as well. The problem with the past attributes tab is that it only has one selection for effects, so if you have a blur or anything else on there, that will be copied as well.

set the in and out on your timeline, load the clip in question, then in the canvas window, from the middle of the three pill-shaped windows, drag down and select gang. now, when you go to the out point (or anyother point on your timeline for that matter) the source window will reflect the corresponding spot.

Thanks, Gary. After checking for software updates, my old projects came back to life – huge relief. still can’t get the AJA KONA 2 presets up in the easy set-up menu and I have checked the show all box.
