Hi, does anyone know how to get rid of the Calibrated (Q) XD Decode overlay on exported still? I am using frame grabs for the art associated with a project, but as I export a jpg and then open I get this Calibrated watermark all over the still. Any help would be great. Thanks!

    Is the component paid for?

No, didn’t realize I had to. The videographer I worked with put some software on the drive when he delivered the XD Cam footage and Calibrated was one of the packages I installed to get the XD Cam footage to work. Do I even need this software if all I need to do is interpret XD Cam footage? Ironically, this sequence is HDV which I would not have this problem with before Calibrated was installed. Thanks Jeremy

I would contact them, but if you are using the native EX1 MXF footage, you probably need to buy the component. You free trial has probably expired, which is why you see the watermark.

No you don’t. FCP can work with specific types of MPEG2 files, it’s the mxf and mp4 wrappers it doesn’t play well with. Sony supplies a Log and Transfer plugin that rewraps to .mov.

Calibrated is only required if you want to use the native camera files in FCP.
