Hi,

This is dependant on how Combustion is implemented and there’s nothing we can do about it. Please contact Autodesk about this issue so it’s something they need to change in Combustion. We merely provide the video components for them to access the video hardware.

Hi,

The DeckLink Installer edits the After Effects preferences. If you install After Effects after installing the DeckLink drivers, this will not happen. To enable trillions of colours for the Blackmagic codecs, please reinstall the drivers again. This will be easier than manually editing the preference file.

We don’t comment on future developments but it’s quite inevitable that Vista will be supported as that’s the future roadmap for Windows.

Hi,

It’s actually possible right now via DirectShow with our Windows driver. This means that developers writing custom applications can access more than one DeckLink card in a single system. Unfortunately, this is not supported in the NLEs out there in the market place so it still seems like only one card is supported.

It sounds like you’re rolling your own application. If you’re running into difficulties accessing more than one card, please write to me (support[at]blackmagic-design.com) and I’ll direct you to the relevant resources.

I assume that your projector will have component video inputs. They usually look like 3 RCA type inputs that are green, red and blue. You need to connect the Y-out of the cable to the Green input, the B-Y output of the Blue connector and the R-Y output to the red connector. Since the DeckLink HD Extreme uses BNC connectors, you might have to get some BNC-RCA adapters.

Hi,

The Blackmagic codecs are uncompressed codecs and cannot vary in quality. This is why the quality slider is disabled.

You definitely need a G5 with PCI-X slots as we do not support G5s with PCI slots.
