Have you tried the latest driver to see if this is still happening? The latest driver can be found here:

Windows should have some kind of log located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson.

There should be a text file called Drwtsn32.log

Please delete the file, attempt to replicate the problem again and if you succeed, the file will be re-created. Please send this file to us via our support email address: support[at]blackmagic-design.com

Please check that the firmware / drivers for these devices are up to date. Some RAID arrays require updated firmware in order to work with OS X 10.4.8.

You might also want to try rendering to your local drive to eliminate any issues with your existing RAID.

Are you working with 8-bit or 10-bit video? What is the results of Disk Speed Test on your Medea RTR?

Not at the moment for end users. We do have multiple card support feature that is exposed to developers building their own applications but current product applications like Adobe Premiere will not be able see more than one card.

We have received quite a few requests for what you’re asking and are looking to see how we can do this.

Hi Erik,

You’ll need to convert the DPXs to a Quicktime movie via FrameLink. This will create a 2K Quicktime movie. However, a Multibridge Extreme must be used to view it on a 30″ Cinema Display.

Yes you can.

If this is refering to the down converted output from the component output of the camera, then it’s a yes. However, you will have to put the audio outputs through a levels converter as the card expects a +4dB audio input.

Nope. You’ll have to go via your Mac’s firewire port.

The codec not being shown is most likely a cosmetic bug in Quicktime. We’ll investigate this and report it to Apple if necessary.

Hi William,

Apologies for the non-repsonse. I’ve been away from the office.

The DeckLink card expects a stable video source but some VHS decks are unable to provide such a signal. This is why it is advised to run the signal through a Time Based Corrector (TBC) before sending it into the DeckLink card.
