You can’t use the pull down menu to change audio clips. Click on the little speaker icon beside each track to turn the channels on and off.

We don’t have the preset for it but you can easily create on of your own based on the BMD 720p23.98 DVCPRO HD presets. Just change the FPS option in the Capture Preset Editor to 29.97. You’ll also need to create a new sequence preset although Final Cut Pro will do it for you if you drag the captured clip into the a new timeline that doesn’t match the format of the clip.

This will read in the full full 59.94 HD-SDI output from the output of the deck and just grab the varicam flagged frames.

No, your footage is not converted to interlace. The camera actually shoots progressive segmented frames so the 1080i50 setups are correct. Make sure you go into the sequence settings and set the field order option to “NONE”.

Hi,

The Multibridge Pro is both a capture/playback device as well as a converter.

It comes with a PCI-Express adapter card (4 lane) that is installed into your Mac Pro, then connected to the Multibridge Pro via our PCI Express cable. In this mode, Multibridge Pro is just like a capture card in your system.

When the PCI Express cable is disconnected, Multibridge Pro becomes a converter and is controlled via a software utility and a simple USB connection.

Hi,

The Mac uses 2vuy instead of HDYV for decoding of 8-bit Uncompressed video. 2vuy on Windows is used by Microsoft but we don’t use it as it may use the wrong colorspace for HD video.

I wrote a little application to simply convert the fourcc codec so that Quicktime on the Mac knows which codec to use when reading these files.

Hi Dick,

Intensity goes either into capture OR playback mode and not both. When you try and capture audio via Final Cut Pro’s VO Tool, the card needs to to be placed in capture mode. However, the default configuration in Final Cut Pro puts the card in playback mode, hence you don’t get audio input.

To record using the VO tool, you’ll need to go into the View > External Video menu option and select “None”.

Yes, it’s quite a shame. We’ve tested quite a few DVD plays with HDMI outputs and almost all of them encrypt the HDMI port output even when running your own non-protected disc.

Hi Corey,

Dropped frames are *usually* an indication of your hard disk not keeping up with the data rate of the video format you’re capturing. For example, capturing uncompressed video will require substantially more throughput than DV via firewire.

What kind of drives are you capturing to? We include a disk speed test utility so run that against your drive and see what you’re getting. This will be the first thing I would do.
