Quicktime 7.5 just released
Posted by Michael Tate jones on June 10, 2008 at 4:05 pmWell, it’s ANOTHER update. I don’t like randomly updating Quicktime for fear of Blackmagic compatibility issues, but Apple says this update fixes a number of security issues with Quicktime. Anyone want to give the update a shot? I’ve only got one edit system and I can’t afford to use it as a sacrificial lamb. If you give it a try please let me know. Thanks!

June 10, 2008 at 6:50 pmI did the update – no problems so far. The update fixed an issue where Livetype projects wouldn’t display or render when the Blackmagic driver (or AJA’s) was enabled. It also fixed a general Quicktime issue that had corrupted thumbnails for image files.

June 11, 2008 at 3:29 amI want report that Intensity IS working.
It took a shut down and restart (instead of just a restart) to get it working.
Thanks,

June 11, 2008 at 8:16 pmI’ve updated as well with no ill side effects. Running 2 x 2.8 Quad Core Mac Pro, OS X 10.5.3, Quicktime 7.5, BM Multibridge 6.7, 10GB of Ram. This is much better than my Pinnacle Cinewave days where each successive update from Apple would break the Cinewave software.

June 12, 2008 at 12:22 amDid the update. Fixed the problem with LiveType, where the backgrounds weren’t showing up. I’m having spontaneous crashes where FCP just crashes when using the keyboard to delete or some other function.
When I say crash I mean no report to Apple, nothing. It just disappears and has to be reopened manually.Bruce

You might want to look in your the Console.app in your Utilites folder and see if there’re any suspicious entries.
