I have a DVD I need to get some clips from. I have a Panasonic DVD D52 player but I can not get the video to be seen by the Multibridge pro through HDMI. (I’m capturing BM 10 bit, non-controllable device) When I bypass the Multibridge the video plays fine to the monitor. I have the Decklink control panel on my mac set to HDMI Video & HDMI audio for the input.
Why won’t the HDMI play through? It did with the camera.

    Thanks,
    Bruce

    Hi,

It’s most likely copy protected and we don’t pass through or capture copy protected HDMI streams.

Unfortunately, most DVD players will encrypt the HDMI output even if the disc is not copy protected.

No, it’s not copy protected. I ended up using another DVD player to get the job done. I’ll try the component out and see what happens. That kind of sucks that they encrypt that output.

    Thank you for the help,
    Bruce

Yes, it’s quite a shame. We’ve tested quite a few DVD plays with HDMI outputs and almost all of them encrypt the HDMI port output even when running your own non-protected disc.
