    Hi Liam,

[Liam El Terrible] “Supposedly the company i work for is getting the new G5 quad tomorrow/today does anyone know if the blackmagic decklink cards designed for the quads are available yet?.”

The new Quad G5 uses PCI-Express slots. We current ship the DeckLink Extreme (PCI-Express version) that is compatible with this machine.

    Hi Kaspar,

[Kaspar Kallas] “there is decklink extereme for PCI-X but no HD products yet”

It’s actually PCI Express. PCI-X is what we are already shipping. 🙂

November 15, 2005 at 10:36 pm in reply to: Decklink Video Delay?

    Hi Robert,

Bob is right. There will be sync issues when you monitor video off the DeckLink card and audio off the Mac’s internal sound output as they run on different clocks.

    Hi,

Uncompressed 10-bit NTSC will require about 27MB/sec. Make sure that your drive is capable of sustaining this speed.

FW800 drives will work for capturing and playback of uncompressed SD video. Don’t expect much in terms of the number of streams you can play at once though.

    Hi,

Which model of Dual G5 do you have? Make sure it’s not the one with PCI slots as they are not supported. Kindly refer to this:

    Hi,

Kaspar is correct. HDLink is build for pixel-for-pixel monitoring of your HD signal and will not zoom your 720p video when connected via DVI-D.

  • Hi Leo,

We’vre receivd your project file. Interestingly enough, this problem shows up when I brought the project to a Mac running After Effects 6.5.

It turns out that your composition was set to use OpenGL as the rendering plug-in. Please try changing that to Standard 3D and see if it helps.

    Hi,

Existing sequences are not affected by the easy setup options. The problematic sequence might have been created with a different setup, hence the need to render. When you create a new project, the default new sequence will have the right settings.
