    Does anyone know how many video frames are delayed on the output of a Decklink card? I am using a Decklink HD Pro Dual Link card in my G5, editing standard def NTSC and monitoring picture through analog YUV. I am monitoring my audio through soundsticks and the video appears at least 4 frames late. As an alternative, is there any way to delay the audio output from Final Cut Pro?

    do not monitor the audio output from your MAC G5 audio out (your soundsticks). Monitor the output from the output of your Blackmagic card.

    The Edirol MA10DBK speakers cost all of $129, and have a nice SPDIF input that can be used to monitor the output of your Blackmagic card’s SPDIF output. Before you start crying, the AJA product line works the exact same way – and both product lines offer alternate products to monitor analog audio. Either way – throw out those Sound Sticks – you won’t find these in any professional environment – I don’t even see soundsticks in graphics rooms anymore, that only use the audio for scratch monitoring.

    there are many other ways to monitor the audio output, but this is one of the cheapest ways, with no aggrivation.

    Hi Robert,

    Bob is right. There will be sync issues when you monitor video off the DeckLink card and audio off the Mac’s internal sound output as they run on different clocks.

    there is a need to get an audio- brother/sister to the HDLINK
    to deembed audio from (HD)-SDI.
    the decklink HDproDual has way to less audio monitoring capabilities.

    wishlist:
    HDSDI=SDI in
    HDSDI loop through (to go to HD(SDI) monitor or HDLINK)
    4x SPDIF/AES-EBU out (=8 channels)
    8x analog out
    max price = HDLinks’s

    or, are there any other ideas to get frame acurate 7.1 audio monitoring at reasonable price? (except multibridge estreme)
