BMD DVCPRO HD preset
I’ve captured using the BMD 720p 60 DVCPRO HD preset. I used the 1200a via HD-SDI and RS422 control. The video came in fine and looks great on the desktop via the previewer. The video is redlined in the sequence and unrendered is displayed to my HD monitor. . I’m using the BMD 720p 60 DVCPRO easy setup. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Weirdest thing! Created a new project using the exact same presets as the existing project, reimported the captured files and it now works. Why?

I wonder if it was a simple thing such as changing the Easy Setup without creating a new sequence? That could explain why the new project allowed you to use your files without rendering?
BTW, is there some reason why you are capturing via SDI to the DVCPRO HD codec from a DVCPRO HD deck? This will lead to decompression and recompression cycles and hence generational loss.
It might be better to capture the DVCPRO HD material via FireWire before outputting through the DeckLink HD card for monitoring or to a D5 deck. This would just cause a single decompression cycle and should result in better quality.

Hi,
Existing sequences are not affected by the easy setup options. The problematic sequence might have been created with a different setup, hence the need to render. When you create a new project, the default new sequence will have the right settings.

Thanks! The project is only offline and for reference this is why I went via SDI and RS422 control. I’ll recapture uncompressed 10 bit for the online. Thanks again.
