Hi,

Are you running v5.x of our drivers?

Try uninstalling it using the “Uninstall Blackmagic” tool and then reinstalling it again.

Run FCP Rescue to get rid of FCP’s cache just in case.

Hi,

Instead of individually tweaking the different Final Cut Pro setting, just use the provided easy setups. All the ones we install with the drivers start with “Blackmagic”. If you’re playing an NTSC 23.98 clip, use the one that says “Blackmagic NTSC 23.98 – 8 bit / 10 bit / JPEG”. Once you’ve selected it, create a new sequence and drop the down converted clip into that.

What about the configuration of your card in the PowerMac? Make sure that the cards are not sharing the same bus, ie Slots 2 and 3.

Hi Alisa,

The drives are not fast enough. A 1080i50 10-bit video will require about 132Mb/sec. Your drives are barely cutting it in terms of throughput, that’s why it’s choking.

What other cards do you have in your system and is one of them in the other 100Mhz PCI-X slot?

What kind of storage array are you capturing to? Run Disk Speed Test and let us know the results.

Try capturing with Blackmagic Deck Control. Does that work?

Once you’ve chosen the easy setup in Final Cut Pro > Easy Setup, make sure you create a new sequence as your old sequences will still be configured using a previous setup.

If the problem goes away with a new account, it’s an indication of something currpted settings in the old one.

Did you run the “Uninstall Blackmagic” tool before reinstalling the 4.8.1 drivers?
