    Hi Kaspar,

We’re aware of this issue and it should be fixed in our next driver update.

    Hi Jason,

It’s strange that all 3 systems will exhibit the same beviour. It may point to an installation process going wrong. Did you run the “Uninstall Blackmagic” application before installing the new drivers? If not, please try that and then reinstall the drivers again.

What version of Final Cut Pro and our drivers were you on before upgrading?

Is the loss of audio output confined to just Final Cut Pro? Have you tried Blackmagic Deck Control or simply play something out from iTunes?

    Hi,

    “PAL – DV”:

This is provided by Apple and is for capturing via firewire to the Apple DV codec. The video preview will also go out through the firewire connection of your Mac.

    “Blackmagic PAL – DV”:

This is provided by us and is for capturing to the Apple DV codec via the input connections of the DeckLink card. The video preview of will use our cards’ outputs.

    Hi,

FCP usually throws a “general error” message when it fails to get access to the video hardware. Do you have any other video applications opened when this is happening? Are you not getting any video output from Final Cut Pro now?

    Hi,

If your DV PAL is via firewire, it’s possible. You need to start with a 10-bit uncompressed project, then switch the capture settings.

If you’re planning to capture non firewire video into the DV PAL format as well as the 10 bit uncompressed format, then you’ll need to use 2 seperate projects. However, the files can then be combined into a 10 bit uncompressed timeline in Premiere.

    Hi,

Can you provide more information such as system config, version of drivers, make of DeckLink card etc?

If you’re using Final Cut Pro to capture, please make sure you configure it using the easy setups we provide in Final Cut Pro > Easy Setup..

  • [Georg Misch] “Maybe Blackmagic could implement a menue dialogue system where one can specify where the DPX files should be moved to, rather than having to do drag and drop.”

Has anyone tried doing something like this in Automator or Applescript?
