It seems that FCP will take some time to release hold of the video output device and if you switch between the applications quickly, FCP gets confused.

We are aware of this and this should have been fixed and pending testing before we release it.

In short, Adobe has to fix it. If we do anything to make captures work with AE 7.0, it will break compatibility with all other applications.

When capturing via firewire using Apple’s easy setup for DV, our cards are not involved at all. Since you can only use one Quicktime input device to capture, the DeckLink card is not activated and hence there is no video preview. This is how video capture is implemented in Quicktime and we do not have a workaround.

Hi,

Multibridge Extreme’s DVI-D output can be adjusted. You need to go into the Blackmagic DeckLink Preferences and check the video output options. The pull down menu will have a DVI-D option. You can adjust the RGB lookup using sliders.

Hi Justin,

It sounds like you’re doing a down conversion as you’re using a DeckLink Extreme card. This means that your 1080/25PsF HD will be coming out as PAL which will be interlaced.

There’s currently no support for XP64. This is something we’re working on. Unfortunately, I’m unable to provide a time frame when this will happen.

The HDlink does not support the 30″ Apple Cinema Display. The 30″ display requires a dual link DVI connection while the HDLink is single link.

The Multibridge Extreme has dual link DVI outputs and will support the 30″ Cinema Display.

Hi,

Edit to Tape in Final Cut Pro uses the video from the Source Viewer as, well, the source. Dragging the sequence from the Browser window into the Edit to Tape window is one way to get it to work.

You can also drag your sequence into the Insert icon at the bottom of the Edit-To-Tape window or load your sequence into the Source window first, before clicking on the Insert button.
