Blackmagic Decklink Extreme – why no 1080 25P
Posted by Justin Tan on March 3, 2006 at 12:58 amJust curious, I have a job that was recorded at 25P but the only setting I have is 1080i 25hz…
theoretically it should be fine right? but it does introduce fields when it playsout…

March 3, 2006 at 4:37 amHi Justin,
It sounds like you’re doing a down conversion as you’re using a DeckLink Extreme card. This means that your 1080/25PsF HD will be coming out as PAL which will be interlaced.

Use the 1080i50 Easy Setup, then go into Sequence Settings and set field order to “None”.

That’s correct. By turning off the field dominance option in Final Cut Pro, you get frames instead of fields.

March 6, 2006 at 10:20 amthx again Kristian, I have been having an issue where the second field of every frame seems to lift black values, this might have inadvertantly Solved that problem…
