  • Edit to Tape compression error

I want to insert edit my timeline to digibeta.

all settings (and the video) is set and rendered as BM 10-bit.
The timeline plays in realtime just fine.

when I go to edit to timeline and hit the insert button it fails
    with a compression setting error.

another poster mentioned dragging the timeline to the edit to tape video window
    then hitting edit to tape.

I have not tried it yet (not at work right now)

Is this a workaround or the proper way to do it?

I must also be able to output 30 secs of bars-n-tone plus my slate.

running o/s 10.4.5 and the latest drivers with my Multibridge Extreme
the system is a G5 quad with pci-express.

    thanks

    Hi,

Edit to Tape in Final Cut Pro uses the video from the Source Viewer as, well, the source. Dragging the sequence from the Browser window into the Edit to Tape window is one way to get it to work.

You can also drag your sequence into the Insert icon at the bottom of the Edit-To-Tape window or load your sequence into the Source window first, before clicking on the Insert button.

    regards

    Thanks Kristian.

so just to confirm, there is no way to just make it happen without dragging something
to one of the video windows?

when I edit to tape, will the bars and tone I specified (tab next to the video window)
and the slate I loaded in go first?
