Shane is right on that one
the best way to be sure is to go with a VAR. There are several out there that do a great job. Shop your price and their reputation, you are pretty much gaurenteed to get a total set up that will fit your needs.

Curious do you have any experience with the Euphonics control surface with Final Cut? I know as a DAW it is ok but Final Cut? any insight will be helpful

IN following Zanes post. the MBP’s single firewire buss is not a big fan of the daisy chain scenario where a camera is concerned. I use the Express 34 slot with a sonnet sata card and a external sata and get great results.

It is my understanding that technically that can be done but Apple does not support backwards compatibility. Is there a specific reason you have not upgraded your QT and FCP?
your QT files Should still work with newer versions.

Last week one of Apples SE’s demonstrated editing with the D5 Mark II at a video workflow seminar using aperture and Final Cut Pro and Color. he also showed editing it wit Adobe.

Sure to go from Quick time to FLV or SWF you might want to try Sorensen Squeeze or Episode Pro. Both are software that you need to pat for but they do alot more than compressor alone.

Just Curious are we talking a true XDCam or the EX-1 2 different scenarios. I Use the EX-1 and it is not an Issue however the big brother the XDCam I have worked with i can see the issue you are talking about. Just would like to clarify which footage we are speaking of

Doen’nt everyone find it odd something like this even came up. With Final Cut Server now shipping and in some post houses and the recent update to FCS. Why would apple even think of selling it off. As was already stated over 1,000,000 registered users. Apple won’t want to loose that market let alone all the film and tv cred that is happening with FCS now.
