What’s the best computer setup for HD 1080p editing?
I am going to do a lot of work for TV with footage originaly shot in 1080p format (panasonic P2), and I would like to know what’s the necessary hardware to do this (Mac pro; monitors; HD card; hard drives; etc..).
I will have to do a lot of color correction using Apple’s Color and motion graphics using Adobe After Effects, and I have to deliver the final product in both Digital Betacam and Betacam SP.
I would also like to be prepared to output my work to an HD format.
Can somebody help me on this?
Please take in consideration that I don’t have an unlimited budget if you know what I mean.
Any advise will be extremely appreciated.Many thanks in advance

Find yourself a Value Added Reseller like ProMax.com and look at their pre-configured setups. This is a great way to get proper working edit stations when you don’t know how to configure one yourself.

the best way to be sure is to go with a VAR. There are several out there that do a great job. Shop your price and their reputation, you are pretty much gaurenteed to get a total set up that will fit your needs.Life Begins at 155mph
