Thanks for the input on that. I will register that in our bug system as a request. However, I will say that the HQ codec has been the default (in our Easy Setups) since ProRes came out. You have always been able to change it in the same way.
We thought it better to maintain consistency, but your opinion is noted.

Hrm…is it possible that the “appearance” of these signals are tripping the fail over, and the SDI-HDMI converter is switching to the other “alt” input?
As a test put a second (different video) into the alternate input on the computer. And see if when you run your test if it is flipping to the other input.

How does this look when compared to the MJPEG captures in Composite or S-Video? Are they the same, or worse? If they are the same I might suggest (depending on severity) that these are just compression issues (without seeing it, it is hard to know for sure).
One thing you could try is to capture uncompressed (if your drives can take it) and see if that looks different.

Hrm….I doubt the drivers are actually getting removed, but it would seem as if the board is being “disabled” in the device manager.
If this happens regularly it would suggest a couple of things. One that there is some sort of system issue, which might cause the board to become unrecognized. I would update the motherboard BIOS (from the mobo manufacturer) and Motherboard Chipset drivers (from the chipset manufacturer, e.g. Intel, AMD, nVidia) as well as the peripherals (for graphics card, sound board and HBA).
See if that helps stabilize the system. If it is still a problem you could be dealing with a flakey board, but I am not completely convinced of that, as if the board were the problem it probably wouldn’t work while the drivers were showing up.
So give that stuff a check and if that doesn’t do it, please let us know.

Just uninstall and reinstall the currently installed drivers. It will put Media Express 1 back on your system.
In the near future Media Express 2 will have a few options as to what size screen opens up, so hopefully this will make the application more accessible.

That’s definately odd. Tried that on our system in house and don’t see any sort of Moire pattern.
I think it’s a good idea to try the Composite or S-Video inputs. To access those click Apple -> System Preferences -> Decklink. Once there there is an input dropdown. Click the dropdown and select S-Video or Composite (make sure you don’t leave the color channels connected while using these inputs).

Works fine. We’ve used those machines at shows. While I don’t like the quadro cards (as they are expensive and don’t serve much purpose), I tend to purchase without a graphics card and just add a Ge-Force (even though it is not supported by HP).

Are you using our easy setups in Premiere without the board installed?
This should not cause problems, but it might be something to look into as potentially the application is looking for our board for I/O and it is not present. Can you confirm if these issues happen while NOT using a BMD preset?

Just to clarify. This is an issue with Xbox360’s that have some failing in the HDMI interface. This is something that has been attributed to potentially weak solder points on the Xbox. This is not something that the Intensity series (or any BMD product) causes or makes worse.
So if you do see this type of issue you will need to contact Microsoft about an exchange for the unit.
