    Hello,

Yes it is true. We have discontinued the Multibridge Extremes. This does not mean the product is bad, nor does it mean we don’t intend to fully support it. Allow me to clarify a few things. This is a two tiered decision.

The Mutlibridge Eclipse superceeds the Mutlibridge Extreme in all ways. So it doesn’t make sense to run both products. Plus the Eclipse offers some things that the Extreme does not.

The other thing is that a few parts might become hard to get in the near future so we want to make sure we have what we need to support the many units that are already out there.

This has nothing to do with the longevity of the product. It is just a natural progression of the products. One of the things Blackmagic is known for is that it is constantly releasing new and exciting products. We want to make sure that we have a broad product line that is not overly redundant. Of course we will continue to support and update the Multibridge Extreme as we do with all of our products.

July 23, 2007 at 6:37 pm in reply to: Loosing sync when changing source in directshow

    Hello Kai,

What driver version are you using? My understanding is that this behavior should be largely improved in Driver 6.3. Basically when the source is disconnected the the clock signal runs and this causes the results to be out of sync. In the newer driver it should use an internal sync as soon as a source is disconnected.

Please confirm that you are using the newer driver and I will send an email to the guy that approves the list.

  • Here is a technnote on our website that helps detail how to do this in reference to our boards.

I’m sorry…perhaps I am not understanding what you are trying to do. What role would the Intensity fill for you?

If I understand correctly you are going from P2 (digital transfer from media to hard disk). Then you will edit and export to Beta SP.

I guess I am just not understanding where you are using the HDMI interface of the Intensity.

September 8, 2006 at 5:24 pm in reply to: Multibridge Power Supply

    Hello,

It could be either the power supply on the multi-bridge itself. There is a fairly easy way to check, if you have a multimeter. If you do you can check the output of the power supply and see if it is giving you 12 volts out. If it is not, then you could have a bad power supply. If it is, then it could very well be the Multi-bridge itself.

You should definately stick to the power supplies provided by Blackmagic Design as using a different could cause damage to the unit, thusly voiding your warranty.

    Sincerely,

    Joshua
