    Hello Blackmagic,

I got a RMA of a Multibridge Extreme from the Netherlands branch today a brand new unit in a box. I set it all up then when I switche don the power nothing happens no red led light on the Multibridge. I also tried another kettle plug and it does not work. I think I can hear a very low fan sound from the uit but it’s difficult to tell.

I e-mailed Theo but I think I have missed him as 1hr ahead from the UK. Do you know if it’s likely to be the AC Power box the Multibridge uses or the Multibridge Extreme itself? And can a new power unit be bought ayhwhere or is it specific to Blackmagic?

    Thanks,

    Leo

    Hello,

It could be either the power supply on the multi-bridge itself. There is a fairly easy way to check, if you have a multimeter. If you do you can check the output of the power supply and see if it is giving you 12 volts out. If it is not, then you could have a bad power supply. If it is, then it could very well be the Multi-bridge itself.

You should definately stick to the power supplies provided by Blackmagic Design as using a different could cause damage to the unit, thusly voiding your warranty.

    Sincerely,

    Joshua

    Hello Joshua,

Thanks for the quick update. Yes I will use the one from Blackmagic as I do not want to risk the warranty.

I will see if I have a Multimeter as I think my dad has one for his work. Iwill get him to test both units like you said and wait for the rply from Theo in Europe branch of Blackmagic.

    Thanks,

    Leo

    Hello Joshua,

We tested the mains unit for the Multibridge with a tester and it registered 12.10 Volts.

So it seems that the Multibridge Extreme has a problem. But when plugged the mains cable and adaptor into the Multibridge the red LED does not illuminate and no fan sound.

    Thanks,

    Leo
