Looks like BM has taken the Extreme off and that’s a bit too extreme for our 6 months card! LOL….
Infact our shop were considering to buy another 2 units of Extreme for our new suites but looks like MB Eclipse is the only option presently if we want to keep all suite BM. Let’s hope the Eclipse doesn’t Extinct too soon. Maybe switching to a Kona shop now is not a bad idea 🙂

Our shop history, Cinewave – Aurora – and presently BM

    Hello,

Yes it is true. We have discontinued the Multibridge Extremes. This does not mean the product is bad, nor does it mean we don’t intend to fully support it. Allow me to clarify a few things. This is a two tiered decision.

The Mutlibridge Eclipse superceeds the Mutlibridge Extreme in all ways. So it doesn’t make sense to run both products. Plus the Eclipse offers some things that the Extreme does not.

The other thing is that a few parts might become hard to get in the near future so we want to make sure we have what we need to support the many units that are already out there.

This has nothing to do with the longevity of the product. It is just a natural progression of the products. One of the things Blackmagic is known for is that it is constantly releasing new and exciting products. We want to make sure that we have a broad product line that is not overly redundant. Of course we will continue to support and update the Multibridge Extreme as we do with all of our products.

    Joshua
