Yes, I thought of that too, but when I select the sequence in the browser and check settings, it says 4:3. As suggested above, I dropped a 16:9 clip in the 4:3 sequence, it letterboxed, copied clip and pasted attributes (distort) on the 16:9 sequence and it worked. Still don’t know why I had the problem. I have the 5.0 upgrade, and 10.4 ready to install, just needed to finish this project so I’m soon off to greener pastures. Thanks to all (once again) for the help and solutions.

Talk to Sachtler Repair and parts in New York. I’ve had great experiences with them, this summer they rebuilt my 18 head, it cost around $750, but its like new. They’re good folks.

Are any of you using a similar workflow for uprezing SD material? This would be taking DVCPro 50 material shot on a SDX 900.

    Thanks,

Yes, I just did another search on the forum and got the scoop. Its an ADS Pyro enclosure, we’re searching to see if there’s an update available for it. Otherwise I will put it in my MDD dual 1.25. I just hate seeing all that storage going to waste.
    thanks,

May 29, 2006 at 2:13 pm in reply to: Panasonic SDX900 image on consumer HD tv

I have heard (2nd hand) through Roger Macie (noted Boston tech and camera set up guy) that people are getting good results up rezing the SDX 900 to Hi-Def. I have a good friend with a 900, and he has done some preliminary testing using an AJA card. Their primary application is large corporate events where the final product would be projected HD. They also do a ton of After Effects work, and by uprezing they can create compositins in the HD format. I would say its a pretty good alternative to going full blown HD, although you still have to get it out to HD when your done. The camera is beautiful, and I wish they had dropped the price earlier as I would have got it over my DSR 450, which I bought for the 24p and film gamma settings… oh well

    Walter,

In general terms, what kind of CC are you doing with the film gamma settings? Are you able do a “broad brush” setting and apply it to each clip, or is it a clip by clip thing?

    Thanks,
    John

Thanks! I tried right clicking, but that did nothing. I knew there had to be a way to do this. I also discovered that if I dragged the offline clips into a timeline. exported an EDL. modified the track setting in the EDL, re-imported the EDL, and then recaptured, that I could accomplish the feat, I like your method better!

June 1, 2005 at 3:46 pm in reply to: Panasonic Camera For Imag

We’re using Sony’s for our multi-cam/IMAG stuff, but we also own an SDX-900. Its a beautiful camera with a superior image to the D-35s we use for multi-cam. If you need CCU or paint controls it may be harder to find for the Panasonics, but SDX-900s are out in the rental world, Rule Broadcast in Boston has at least two, so you should be able to find them in major cities. Where is your event?
