When I bought my 300 I also bought the 1710, so I’m mostly concerned with HD SDI. I had heard the down convert was not so good as it’s a software solution. The AJA’s are hardware driven.

The last I heard was if you had not previously placed an order for a 64GB card you would not see them till late September (which means October). I’m still waiting for my 32GB cards, which suddenly went from any day now to back ordered. I wanted 2 64GB cards but was concerned I would be waiting tooooo long. I’ve got work to do. My dealer has been good about providing loaners, but they were not expecting this delay either…

I agree, MXF4mac seems very complete, but at the current exchange rate it’s about $515, almost half of FCP. Maybe in times of better cash flow but… seems steep. TEP HD starts at $300. I understand the argument that it will pay for itself in saved time or less confusion so it’s still an option.

Yes, I watched the tutorial. It’s the price of MXF4mac that is stopping me. Will Raylight offer similar features?

So if we’re not logging on FCP, there is no way to utilize P2CMS to log and bring that info into FCP? If that’s the case, what is P2CMS for?

OK, I continued googling and found an Apple forum where this was discussed. I had named my folders with a “#” sign, went back, renamed folders using underscore for spaces and deleted the “#” sign. Now I have preview, but no audio. Did a search through the P2 Cow, and found “refresh AV devices” and I’m back in business.

This subject is one of my concerns about the EX3. I certainly like (from what I’ve seen so far) the physical aspects of the camera such as the lens and viewfinder. I’ve started shooting with the HVX 200 and so far the focus and viewfinder are making me crazy… One of my current projects is about Le Mans style sports car racing, another is a doc on shore birds and their habitats, and I’m concerned about the long GOP motion blur issue with fast moving objects. I am also realizing there is a need to alter shooting styles to take advantage of the way the camera works. I’m working on that…
When shooting either 60i or 60p are you still able to get the “film/non video” look? What settings other than frame rate impact this, such as gamma, etc?
Last question- Anyone using a 2/3″ lens for long lens shots? I have a Fuji 20x, and the prospect of carry an EX3 with that lens vs. a DSR450 with a 33x and a Sacthler 25 sure looks like a better idea to me!
