What I do in this situation is to find the .aif audio file associated with the clip, import into FCP, lower the level & rename (“ABC clip -8″), import into DVD SP, and switch it out in the track, Its quicker than recapturing and encoding, plus you can make several versions while you’re at it for testing in simulation mode.

Thannks, I tried that, but I’m still getting the same result. Maybe I’ll go back to Data Rescue and try and get those files again. Or maybe they’re all damaged beyond repair… ouch.
