Is there a way to just adjust the volume level of an MPEG2 movie? I keep putting together these reels and sometimes a certain clip will be much louder than the others and what I normally do is recapture the clip from digibeta into FCP, bring the levels down, and then re-encode it. Is there a simpler way to do this? I have looked, but I don’t thing DVDSP gives you any audio level option.

    Thanks in advance,
    Eli

What I do in this situation is to find the .aif audio file associated with the clip, import into FCP, lower the level & rename (“ABC clip -8″), import into DVD SP, and switch it out in the track, Its quicker than recapturing and encoding, plus you can make several versions while you’re at it for testing in simulation mode.
