Just a quick and dirty 5 minute attempt, but is it something like this you are explaining. Obviously needs more time to make a proper version but it is using the technique as described by Graham

Have you tried to just make the VIDEO without the Audio to work out which part is causing the problem?.. If the Video burns OK then remove the video from the time line and replace the video with just a still picture for the whole length of the audio and try again…. As the others are saying you have to find out what it is NOT to be able to find out what it is…. . And yes..always use a DVD-RW when having to find problems..Hope you get it sorted soon…

Hello Put this file onto your DESKTOP and double click it. It is the VEG file with the TEXT and the background picture within the program … You will see that the TEXT is on 4 tracks and each TEXT is positioned with Track motion ( Not the Event Pan ) . This is in SV10e https://www.dropbox.com/s/zw1y5bfr9ski9sd/spinSV10.veg

    Hope this help John

Do you mean like this? You say you want the pictures to spin but I assume you mean the text…https://www.dropbox.com/s/2d0gmykxvnq6cj0/like_this.wmv

I do an embedded version but it did not appear

  • If you intend to do any panning or zooming IN on the stills, then resize then to max of twice the project size setting. Like Graham mentions, if the pictures are a very much larger size than the project settings then you get a sort of shimmering effect on fine details……. John

February 21, 2014 at 5:54 pm in reply to: considering jumping from FCP to vegas – any thoughts?

Hi Phil. I did not answer straight away as I thought there were others more professionals then me to make a comment.

But I have used FCP and also Windows programs like EDUS and Adobe Premiere. My friend has a Video studio and he uses FCP and I help him with a lot of his editing but FCP is not very intuitive and unless you use it a lot it does seem to make a simple job complicated and more time consuming.

Sometime when an extra special bit of video is needed we have to do it in Vegas as it makes a difficult job a lot easier and then import it into FCP which is always more complicated that it seems.

With Vegas you can almost drag most things to the timeline and it will accept it whereas FCP is very fussy. Vegas have gone the whole mile to make difficult things easier and from my point of view the quickest and best way to produce professional results. Even with FCP you need the BORIS programs to do simple things that are already built into Vegas. I do hope others on the Forum will also make a few comments.

Just make sure you get the right build for your PC.

If it is REALLY an image backup then it will contain everything.. BUT as been mentioned they are scattered in different places…

    WIN 7

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM : system32configsystem
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SAM : system32configsam
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SECURITY : system32configsecurity
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE : system32configsoftware
    HKEY_USERS UserProfile : winntprofilesusername
    HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT : system32configdefault

Never tried to open these directly on another HDD.
    =====

If the backup is just Data to the NAS then it won’t have system files.

Not sure if this helps but I guess you can try and let us know,,,,,,

  • That’s great. Glad you can continue to work again. Regards John
