Don’t know about the upgrade install procedure, but would guess you will need FCP 3 or 4 running to do it… so why not go now?

If I’m reading this right,I think what you need to do is to remove the attributes of these 16:9 images while they are in an anamorphic sequence. When you put them in a 4:3 sequence, they were “distorted” so you need to “undistort them”.

There are some banding issues sometimes with 8 bit color ramps… but if you don’t have them…

To add to this post… you also can’t have the log and capture window open at the same time you are attempting to hear audio from a clip’s playback.

Media Manager and Speed changed clips don’t get along. It’s buggy fur sure.. FCP 5 will be addressing this I hear…
HOWEVER… the only real way to get around this is to “unspeed” your clips before MM, add the extra video if they were sped up… then use MM, and re speed change the clips in the online session.

As to number 4…
Copy the clip before you slip or slide it… then paste attributes by control clicking on the newly slipped clip… That way the keyframes will just get remade right where they were before…

Not ever really seen this, but it’s most likely an OS or hardware problem, not an FCP/AE problem… Try resetting your PMU switch. Unplug your Mac from Power first…
The switch is under the removable fan which is over the RAM chips. It’s a small round button. Just push it and wait a minute or two, then restart. What it does is reset power management system wide, and zaps the PRAM.

Having the Dazzle not connected, and using the camera only with the Log and Capture window closed, and the view set to “all frames” isn’t working then? Are you connecting the camera to it’s own FW port on the Mac? if not try that too.
