What’s the kHz of the audio files? Are they sound sync from DV or?

Dont’ think MPEG-1 will support 16:9… Can’t you use a more modern codec?

Kingston’s probably fine, but Crucial is what I buy… they have a configurator so there’s no guessing…

Change your still frame duration to one frame in the user prefs.
import a folder with all those numbered tiffs in it…
Drag all tiffs to a sequence (numbering important so you can get them in the right order), then export this as a self contained QT movie… import that file, and use it as a clip!

You can still use the intermediate codec that FCE uses… don’t think with a G4 you’ll get a ton of RT with native HDV though…

Actually, you don’t need a capture card if all you are going to do is work in DV…

Re rendering won’t degrade the clips.
If you deinterlace, you’ll lose resolution, because you are throwing away 1/2 the image. (one of the two interlaced fields).

Recapture the 49 minutes… Media Manager assumes that the media is online, needing to be managed… so I’m afraid that it doesn’t work with offline media.

Export a non self contained QuickTime movie from FCP of your sequence(s). Open this file in iDVD, and choose the best MPEG compression it does. THIS is the cleanest way to work. No compression done at all before the big one (the MPEG compression) that iDVD does.
