Ok, when I edited this project a while back I captured it as one huge clip from one tape (49 minutes worth). Then I edited the video, saved it out as a standalone file and deleted all of the original media.

Now I want to batch digitize what I used in the video (plus some handles) as I need to make a new version of it. The problem lies with how to batch only the portions of the media I used without having to do all 49 minutes (it all came from one clip). It would work if I am able to create individual clips of each edit, then I could batch them all from one tape. The media manager hasn’t worked as it still creates that one 49 min file (is there a setting I’m missing?).

    Any ideas?

    Oh yeah, I’m running FCP5.

Recapture the 49 minutes… Media Manager assumes that the media is online, needing to be managed… so I’m afraid that it doesn’t work with offline media.

    Hm, oh well.

In the future, how should I media manage a finished online project to avoid capturing it all again?
