    Save yourself the expense.

Use Media Manager to copy the files, and in the process create a new project file which will end up being all connected to the copies.

You’d need a CPU and disk drive per camera for a tapeless solution… What are you going to shoot? DV? If so, a Weibetech or Granite digital FW drive would work.. In any event I’d record to tape at the same time.

I’m confused. There’s the wrong audio in Motion?

Shouldn’t need to export a QT movie at all.

Did you set the motion estimation to best? If not, try that…

If you assign Motion to be the “editor” application in the FCP System settings it will open in motion that way. But you really should use the send to command I think, leaves the editor app to be some other app possibly.

In order to get audio to go as well as the video be sure to select it in the timeline window… it does work just fine here… and using this method you can embed the Motion content… allowing you to just double click it later for changes… sort of like a nest but it opens the Motion project file when you do things this way allowing for a true round trip.

It’s gonna work great… do use copies of the FCP 4 sequences, and you should be good to go… Run Software update to get to 10.4.2, QT7.1… then run the Suite install…. update it to 5.0.2 and accept everything in Software update… I just did exactly this when 10.4.2 came out, and I’m a very happy camper here…

In the lower corner of the edit to tape window there is a button with dots on it.. I think that should be set Ch 1+2, and in the audio outputs tab of the User preferences pane, this too should be set to the default stereo out… checked these?
