We recently upgraded to 5.0.2. When we go to ‘Edit To Tape’ the audio is mono. With we hit play from the time line, stereo. The I/O is the Kona 2 running the 1.1.2 drivers. We have tried every setting we can find in the software, anyone have any ideas?

In the lower corner of the edit to tape window there is a button with dots on it.. I think that should be set Ch 1+2, and in the audio outputs tab of the User preferences pane, this too should be set to the default stereo out… checked these?

Figured it out. The audio was from a CD at 44.1k, when FCP rendered it to 48k it rendered it as mono. all the audio from that point became mono as if a switch turned it to mono. Delete the render files and it is stereo again.

For now, resample your audio BEFORE importing it.
