Export a QuickTime movie of his project from his computer, and import that into yours… you could connect the two computers via ethernet for the transfer.

I’d *guess* that you could just render it, however this would involve a digital generation loss. You’d be better off media managing the project removing unused media (or not) and recapturing from tape.

Actually, in this arena, there aren’t “bad” effects pkgs… I do like Natress’s stuff as well as Boris’ products… Don’t forget what you can do with Motion too!

Could be some wierdness with the Media 100 codec… dunno, but think you should be able to simply use a color corrector to bring back the original look without too much trouble.

Try using Apple’s Convertions in Compressor 2 for this. QT Pro can do it too, probably similar results?

And the source material is DVCPRO50? Your imported them how?
Post which OS, and version of FCP 5 and QuickTime you are running and how you got to those upgrades all.

Roll cameras. Shoot slate or clapping hand. one clap.
Keep them rolling. When any stops it has to resync with all four. Capture all as 29.97 however. Don’t remove the pulldown if they are mixed I’d suggest.

Seems to me you could turn off that preview button and batch capture that way? Use it to log, but not to capture?
