Try keeping it very simple… just use Media start, media end, reel, name, and tracks…?

I’d try it without the de interlace filter… what would be the point of lowering the resolution by 50% using it anyway?

Make sure the audio is a 48 kHz aif… if it’s not, use QT Pro to make it so.

It is an issue with your system apparently. This isn’t being reported all over the place (you should check the Decklink forum here too about that) … so the only fix I know of is to create an enviornment that is totally clean. i.e. build a startup disk with known compatible software and see if this doesn’t fix you up. Maybe just reinstalling drivers for the Decklink would do it, dunno…

That setting isn’t in FCP 4.5.
Try typing option+p. Forces no dropped frames but rate will drop as it will playback unrendered effects as fast as your system will do it. Again, faster drives will matter…

Seems to me that if you see some strangeness in a 10 bit Decklink codec, it’s not apple’s problem (they don’t write the codec code, Decklink does… I certainly don’t see anything of the sort with the 10 bit codec with my Kona 2… (FCP 5.0.2, QT 7.0.2, and latest drivers for Kona 2 card here). But that said, I think if the 8 bit setting you are trying looks OK, I’d use that… Might compare the two however, and see if there’s much difference? If you don’t see a problem, you don’t have one…

Post the exact versions of FCP, and DVD SP you are running. Also note that chapter markers have to be made in the timeline, and not inside any clips which are there…

To prepare for the online, marry all of the projects into a new project file, marry the sequences by cutting and pasting… Next open media manager and create a new “offline” sequence deleting unused media and setting this new sequence to be the format you wish to recapture… should work fine as long as all media files were the same media files in first place… If they were not, you’ll need to make sure that tape names are consistent between one sequence and the next etc… then recapture should be OK… Where you’ll run into trouble is if editor a called it first tape, and editor b called his capture from the same tape a different name… that hasn’t happened, right?
