October 23, 2012 at 4:40 pm in reply to: clarification for “Produced by” in credits

    Gilles,

It has been my experience that ‘executive producer’ = $$$, while ‘producer’ = talent & work.
On one project in my organization a person with very little editing experience, who contributed a great deal to the ‘look and feel’ and also the content, was billed as the producer. I was billed as post production, even though I made the ‘look & feel’ happen. I think it is a matter of semantics, and does not mean as much to me.

If you want you can share the billing such as,

    Gilles Gagnon productions
    in association with
    Money Provider Productions
    presents…

Or ou can switch it around.
    Just my thoughts,

    Jeff

I’m not at my work machine right now, so I can’t reply with as much confidence as I prefer. You might have some success with https://ffmpeg.org/

Check it out to convert your assets.

    Good luck,

That’s got me stumped. I don’t have bad renders like you describe.

Have you ever installed a codec pack? These are nasty pieces of software that often overwrite your paid for codec with a free or hacked version. Cleanup is tough, see some of the posts here if you need help along these lines. One of the worst is k-lite.

What is your target framerate? If it is 30 (29.97) then you probably want to resample. It’s going to have to create those extra frames somehow. If your outputting 24 fps (23.976) then tell us which template your using.

  • How did you add the second audio track? Did you right-click on the timeline header area and insert a new audio track? Or, did you drag a file to a menu page?

The correct way is to add a second audio track and create a button that switches between the two, (or three or whatever.)

  • Right-click on the audio and try selecting a different stream. Then normalize it.

October 10, 2012 at 4:37 pm in reply to: SSD Configuration in New Install

    Jon,

Looking over the board I would connect my raid to the black connectors (sata2) and my SSD to one of the Blue ones(sata3).

You may have to eneable a driver like Marvel for the raid to work on the balck connectors. Check through your bios.

They should all be visible inside windows after diskmgmt.msc runs and initializes all drives. Remember to move your My Documents and junk so not to fill up the SSD.

I’ll be offline for most of the next 10 days. If you need more help, start another thread. Older threads don’t get looked at as much because they’re assumed to be closed.

    See this post…

You can even render to ProRes 444 using the ffmpeg external renderer.
