    Nigel,

The largest I had was 2:40 and only 3 cameras. But I think my rig would’ve handled it. I have had zero problems, lucky I guess.

    Nigel,

I’m doing my multicam cuts with Ultimate S also. My from drive is 2x2TB(striped) and my to drive is a 3TB. My system drive is an SSD.

I haven’t had any of the problems with version 11. I cut 4 tracks every week. I once laid out a 72 hour project on the timeline. It was audio only.

On that cheap second PC, install MS Security Essentials and another good one like AVG or Avast, then pre-scan anything you plan on plugging into your editing PC.

Did you investigate the post I referenced? As far as I know, Vegas cannot render a prores file of any kind. But, you can use an external renderer to make this happen. This post I mentioned is about a script that can generate the batch files – from the Vegas timeline – to make it happen. For your workflow, it will be worth your while to familiarize yourself with this batch render script. The video now has English subtitles.

A DVD playable in a DVD player uses the Mpeg-2 format – not negotiable. You can render an mp4 and burn it to a data dvd. To do this select the Sony AVC codec and choose a template under that that best matches your project and quality you want to deliver.

This might sound like a simple question, but, do you have chapter markers near the middle point (without the yellow warning flag)?

    Roger,

The video I saw said you copy the elements you don’t want, or whatever they’re called, to an new layer and then invert the phase, effectively cancelling it out. I don’t have it to work with, but it should work.
