I’m running CS3 PP and CS4 PP on same system.
Only issue I’m finding is: you export to Encore from PPRO CS3, you’ll open up Encore CS4.

I’ve heard that un-installing CS3 will step on CS4, so leave them both installed.

That AVCHD to P2 conversion software saved my butt a few months ago…..

I’m looking forward to being able to read the files natively…. Maybe someone will post from NAB this week…

Frankly I’d be scared to purchase any camera that isn’t supported by Premiere Pro… on the ‘off chance’ that it might be supported….

I realize most of the new camera’s are all subsets of one another…. But I sure wish they’d settle on a standard that everyone could use…. and Read….. And Write….

Just did a separate slideshow in Premiere CS3 at DV Widescreen/48K that was exported to .avi and imported into Encore, (Did it this way when I found that 365 photos were too large for Encore Slideshow).

Pictures were of various sizes and aspect ratio’s.
Had no trouble importing as a timeline in Encore, and it ended up being the 4th menu selection: 10 minute video, and 3 separate slideshows…

It fit nicely onto DV with much space left.

I don’t think it will work…. You need to have a minimum of 1280 x 1024. I believe it will fail before it will even install.

Maybe someone has a work-around for this?

Forgot something:
You will find out that your existing 32k recorded footage will forever have the render bar over it. Just render it to get the project done, and then change camera settings to 48K, and subsequent footage will be ok.

Check the specs of your footage, and I’ll bet the audio is not set for 48K. Many DV Camcorders default to 32K audio (12 bit) not 48K audio (16 bit).

The important thing to remember is that ONLY 48K audio is locked to video. You should use 48K session settings for DVD Creation, as well.

Change the setting in your camera to 48 or 16 bit, and then your render bar should go away, (Assumeing that you session is set for 48K audio!)
