Hi,

Your assumption that the NTSC camera is around $4000, is flawed. Those companies that offer it for that are only advertising it for that price to get you to call them, then once they have you, they will sell you the battery,the power supply and all of the things that normally come with it at a premium. Then they will tack on a bunch of useless accessories, like wide angle converters that vignette and such. No the legitimate units here are going for about $5500-5600. Much under that and there is something wrong. Under $5000, walk away as fast as you can because you are getting scammed, you won’t know it until you have the camera and your credit card bill a month later.

Some of the largest purchases of this camera in one sale haas been to broadcasters, and broadcast groups. I have not heard any one’s footage being rejected based on the fact that it was shot with the HVX200.

Haven’t heard of this but you should take it to a service center. On the Panasonic web page, look under support, find service center and then put in your zip code and model number. If you have to ship it, call first and explain the problem, include a note that details how to make the problem show up and then include a sample of a recording. You could make that a downconverted DV recording. Let the folks in service figure out what is wrong, because that is definitely not normal.

What you need to do is uninstall what you have done, all of the P2 Drivers that you may have installed. Then as you reinstall each driver, you should have the device connected, should that be the P2 card in the PCMCIA slot, the P2 camera, the P2 viewer should have the P2 card in the slot. It should work once you have reinstalled.

It does change the capabilities of the camera, the varialbe frame rate is only avaiable under Film Cam Mode and the shutters are displayed as degrees instead of fractions.

Hi,

Uninstall all of the drivers. Go to this website, download all of the dirves you will be needing, i.e. if you don’t have a P2 Store you do not need that driver. Then put the P2 cards in the slot, conntect the camera via USB, make the connection with what ever device you are trying to work and then install the drivers. That should do the trick. Don’t forget the P2 viewer.

You will have to import and set it into a 4:3 window and render it that way. The deck is not caring about how long the line is and so if you are working in an anamorphic signal, then that is what is will record. If you really want it to record a 4:3 with a letterbox, that is what you will have to feed it.

You are not doing anything wrong. Your monitor will need to be switched to a 16:9 mode.
