Just finished up a dual recording setup… Recording audio and video out (720 – 24p) firewire out to 1200a deck while also recording to P2. Pretty slick. However, we discovered that while using slot 1, and only while actually recording in slot 1, there was a very slight audio chatter or buzz recorded (and heard during pause or recording) on the 1200a. It sounded like time code and stopped when the card was not being recorded on. This symptom did NOT happen on slot 2. We are using 8GB cards and it happened with both in slot 1, repeatedly. We ended up only recording p2 in slot 2 and all was fine. Anyone seen/heard this?

Haven’t heard of this but you should take it to a service center. On the Panasonic web page, look under support, find service center and then put in your zip code and model number. If you have to ship it, call first and explain the problem, include a note that details how to make the problem show up and then include a sample of a recording. You could make that a downconverted DV recording. Let the folks in service figure out what is wrong, because that is definitely not normal.
