    Thanks Adam and Brian,

So, here’s what I did. I turned off the editor display for the environment, and turned off OpenGL. Then I put in the environment, and checked fog, and everything seems to be fine. I was able to mess around with the fog parameters, and it seems good now. So I guess it has something to do with the editor display/openGL aspect.

I have no plugins installed yet, as I haven’t had time to put them in after re-installing Cinema, so I think they can be ruled out. My graphics card is a RadeonX1900. I’ve been thinking about getting a better one, so maybe that would help matters. But it looks like I’m good for now anyway. I’ll post again if something happens.

    thanks for your help,

    Jack

    Thanks Adam and Bryan,

The screenshot I posted shows a mild version of this. Sometimes the whole screen goes that way, and it will last 1 to 2 seconds before snapping back to normal. But it doesn’t seem to affect anything really. So I guess I won’t worry too much about it. Kind of disconcerting, though.

That was it! Thank you! I didn’t even know that setting was there.

You’re right, it has something to do with the HUD. In the HUD display box (where you choose what appears) I have only Projection checked. But when I go to the Filter menu and uncheck HUD the X’s disappear with the HUD. Click it back on and they come back. I have no idea what feature of the HUD they could be attached to. I opened an older file, from last Thursday, and the X’s are not there, even though the HUD is enabled and set the same way. It’s very strange.

Thank you. I hadn’t explored that menu yet. Lots of new stuff in ver. 12 I need to explore!

    Hi Randy,

I saw this thread and find it interesting. But, I have Cinema Studio version 12, and I can’t locate the Cloth NURBS object. I can open your file, but can’t seem to recreate it because I don’t know where to find that object. The manual doesn’t really say where it should be found.

OK. Well, it works in reverse just fine!

Thank you, Adam, that worked fine. I added the keys starting with the last frame and worked back, as you suggested, but what’s the reason for doing it that way instead of from the first key?

You can do this with two materials. I see you’ve applied a gray material to the entire keyboard as a group, and that’s fine. So, now apply that same material to the key with the logo on it, and also the logo material. You will then have the gray on the whole keyboard, and the gray and the logo on that one key also. Make sure the gray material on the key is before the logo material and it should work fine. Cinema applies multiple materials from left to right (the order in the object manager), so the gray material on that key will be first, then the logo will appear on top.
