I’m using R12 on OS 10.6.5. Been using it for a few months, and it’s working fine, but today I noticed a weird thing. Two tiny red X’s have appeared in the editor view window. They are not attached to any object, as they don’t appear in the Object manager. If I change views the two X’s are still there, in the exact same position, regardless of which view I change to (top, right, perspective, etc.). If I open a new document, the X’s are there, same place. Also, if I close Cinema and reopen it they are still there. They only appear in Cinema, not in any other program. It’s not causing a problem, Cinema still works fine, I’m just wondering if anyone knows what is going on here, or has had the same thing occur.

Here’s a screen shot of one of them.

Sounds like it might have something to do with the HUD since it shows up in the same position in every view. Maybe?

You’re right, it has something to do with the HUD. In the HUD display box (where you choose what appears) I have only Projection checked. But when I go to the Filter menu and uncheck HUD the X’s disappear with the HUD. Click it back on and they come back. I have no idea what feature of the HUD they could be attached to. I opened an older file, from last Thursday, and the X’s are not there, even though the HUD is enabled and set the same way. It’s very strange.
