Open GL question
I’m using R12 on Mac OS 10.6.5.
I want to make a huge environment consisting of a seabottom and a water surface, to show a scientific mooring in deep water. I made a Landscape object, and sized it to be 1000m square. But the whole object doesn’t show up in the perspective view – the front edge appears, and only a part of it shows up. It looks like it disappears behind a curtain. If I zoom in with the camera, more of it appears, and when I zoom out it gradually disappears again. It’s like there’s a barrier beyond which you cannot see.
So I looked around in the preferences and found the Open GL tab. I disabled Open GL and voila! the whole scene is now visible, but the quality is low. I can probably live with this, but can anyone explain to me why this happens when Open GL is enbabled? Is there a way around this?
Here’s a screenshot.
thanks,
Jack
