That can’t be right, Anand, since NTSC is 720×480. The frame size you mention is PAL, but then the framerate is incorrect, for PAL that is 25.

1. Yes, that’s what I meant. However be careful that the handle does not contain part of a next or previous shot. If you get completely different shots in the dissolve, maybe deleting the render files may help.
2. Just keep in mind that PAL 720×576 has a PAR of 1.0667. It may be that encoding to WMF is easier with square pixels, 768×576.
3. Why would you go to the trouble of converting WMF from NTSC to PAL if your intention is computer display? If you were intending to deliver to DVD for playback on TV I understand it but then I wonder why encoding to WMF instead of MPEG2-DVD?

What are those basic settings?

1. Check you have sufficient handles.
2. Do not de-interlace interlaced material. A filmic look can be achieved by shooting it, using the proper lighting, DOF, rack focus, dynamic range, etc. If you didn’t shoot it, you will never get the filmic look.
3. PAL is 25, not 24 fps. Secondly, NTSC is 720×480, PAL is 720×576. I suggest you use Procoder or similar to convert NTSC to PAL.
Why is the file WMF and not DV type2?

Another rip-off at that price range. Better use fire-wire or the BlackMagic/AJA products if you want stability.

The trial does not support MPEG. Get the full version, and better yet, get a camera suited for editing.

Some people may think differently about that, as instead of paying $ 1400 for a meager upgrade, they can get Vegas+DVD Studio for around 1/3 of the price, or Avid Xpress Pro 5.x for the same price as Adobe upgrades.
