    Anand,

Thanks for posting your results and it is exactly as I thought it would be. Result 1, with A starting at 0% shows the dissolve you were looking for. Result 2, with the A track at 100% shows a cut, no dissolve.

I personally always leave the start of A at 0% and the end of B at 100%. For more complex dissolves I revert to Pixelan Spicemaster.

I assume that solution 1 is what you tried to achieve, right?

To add to my previous post, if you choose to add a second disk to your system, let’s say a 500 GB disk, you pay

All the brands you mentioned are reputable firms that deliver reliable PC’s with good quality. However, stick to the standard configurations offered. Do not choose to upgrade or add any components, unless you are a thief of your own wallet. Just this morning I checked Dell and they charge you (Dutch prices excl. VAT) for an upgrade from a 250 GB SATA disk to a 500 GB SATA disk a whopping

    Anand,

When you drop the default Cross Dissolve transition on the two clips and in the Effect controls window check it is centered at cut and you then drag the small triangle under the A monitor to the right, changing the start time from 0 to 100%, do you see the gradual dissolve that is intended?

It does not crop the images if you use the correct size and PAR. 640×480 with PAR 1.0. It makes no sense to identify the size in inches, as you did.

    Anand,

I can’t see any dissolve at all, just a plain cut. Might be Google video.

How does it look when rendered and displayed on a TV?

You can never uncrop. You may try interpolate as square pixels.

  • HDV output over firewire is not possible, as it is with DV. You need a dedicated card like the Blackmagic Intensity or higher end cards from Blackmagic or AJA to achieve that.
